What is JohnnyCakes?

JohnnyCakes an interior design studio based in Providence, RI offering interior design, home staging, and retail. We are known for partnering with our clients to blend styles and eras with a twist of playful elegance. Our team leverages design & social science backgrounds to really understand our clients, the space, and what's needed for every day living and working with a lot of zhush.

What does an Interior Designer do?

Our role is to shape and execute your project. We can handle the creative development, visualizations (sketches, CAD, mood boards, structural drawings), sourcing products, project management, customizations, installation, styling, and any other elements related to both the design & decorating of your space. We develop adaptations according to specific physical and social needs, as well as incorporate historical requirements. Because these can be longer term group projects, we maintain both the vision and the plan to make sure everything is cohesive and accounted for while you continue with your regular daily life.

I have a clear vision of what I want, can I still benefit from an Interior Designer?

Our role is to help you execute your vision. While having a clear idea of the creative is excellent, there are some planning and implementation considerations that we can help you think through, budget for, and secure the labor & materials. Our trade access will also open up a new world of product for your special space, and our deep bench of talent can be tapped to execute the work.

At what point in my project should I involve JohnnyCakes?

JohnnyCakes can partner with you at any point in your project. While we provide full interior design services, we also offer a flexible menu of services to support everything from getting the project started, to providing "last mile" decorating & decor.
