This English oak bench is a gorgeous late vintage/early antique piece c.1930s England. Done in a settee style, the arms of the bench drop down so you could lounge with additional pillows. The richly grained warm oak features extensive carvings decorating the back and arms of the frame and feature trailing flora and fauna, as well as some human figures in a scene that seems to show adoration of the key figure at the top.
The seat of the bench has been completely redone and features an oxblood chenille patten over a light cream background. The structure of the bench is totally solid with no breaks or cracks. This piece is in overall excellent condition.
